Strangers In Paradise: Pictures of You
To write a script for a graphic novel. Need more info on suitable rank for Military characters.
I need help with two characters, military rank, fits their experience, talents and personalities. The first is the USMC, a dead shot, cool under pressure, leading small groups in battle and dealing with to keep them alive. He received a Silver Star before. The second is an area doctor, what is the highest rank a person from the medical corps would have, and still be on a battlefield?
If your doctor is with the Marines, so he would not be a Gunnery Sergeant. Gunnery Sergeant is an Army or Marine rank. Marines do not have a medical department. Therefore, using the fleet to fill the void. A Medic in the Navy is called a Corpsman. Whatever rank, all Corpsmen called "Doc" as a slang expression. I have never seen or heard of a higher than Corpsman Petty Officer First Class (E-6) in the area. The cool under pressure Marine will depend on two factors. 1) What is the story behind the Silver Star, and how early in his career he got it. Whatever rank he was when he got a Silver Star, he needs to be higher to get it. Therefore, if he was on his first deployment as a Lance Corporal (E-3) and got it, so he would be a Corporal (E-4) now. Every young enlisted Marine would get a promotion with a price like that. 2) How small is the group he leads? Does it have any specific mission capabilities? If the unit he leads is a Fire Team (four Marines), and it is not an special team, then he would be a corporal. If it is a special teams so he could be a Sergeant (E-5) or as a long shot Staff Sergeant (E-6). If the unit he leads is a Squad (13 marines) so he would either be a sergeant or corporal. If it is a special unit, or perhaps as Sergeant Staff Sergeant. It depends on their specialty. It looks like the best choice would be a corporal or sergeant.
