Do you think comics / graphic novels are looked down upon?
I love to read comics, graphic novels especially. I know a good number of people on school, reading books or poetry, but when I try to recommend a graphic novel, let us say, for example, the Watchmen automatically dub it as stupid because it is a cartoon. I just do not get it. Why do some people have a tendency to think ALL comics are only about superheroes beating up bad guys? They are not. Has any other dealt with this before?
I know what you mean and I think the problem is that people think that comics are just for young children, before I really started to get into them, I know that I did. And it's really a shame that people jump to this conclusion because as you said they automaticlly think a masterpiece as watchmen is just not worth their time and really miss a lot.
